Paul Kruger House
Paul Kruger was the first president of the Transvaal Republic, here his former farm has been transformed into a museum of farming life in the late nineteenth century. There are four buildings that been restored to their former state; the oldest of which is the cottage; built in 1841 by the previous owner of the farm; the newer thatched cottage, built by Kruger for his family in 1863 and known as ‘Pioneer House’; the main homestead, built in 1872 which hosues many of Kruger’s personal possessions.
