COACHING AND PUPPY LOVE
11 June 2018Velmorè once again had a very enjoyable coaching session, complete with flowers and music to emphasise the positive energy of the season. Great fun and great teamwork was the order of the day we were all looking forward to the busy, challenging and exciting silly season ahead. A big thank you to Shelly-Lynne and Michelle, for always going out of your way to make sure that there is something special planned for our team coaching.
On 30 August 2017 we noticed what sounded like little kittens crying at the back of the main office, after further investigation, Hester and Heila saw that it was new born puppies under a bus in the scrapyard next to the hotel. They went to the site and collected the puppies that were left for dead and the mother was nowhere to be found. Hester also contacted the SPCA with regards to the wellbeing of the other dogs on the property as all of them were malnourished and weak.
Hester took the little puppies to the vet who gave her some advice on how to feed and look after these precious babies. 5 weeks later, with very little sleep, Hester returned to the vet for their check-up and deworming. The vet could not believe that these little pups had survived as he was sure they were not going to make it. The hard work and dedication of Hester to ensure their wellbeing paid off! We are glad to say that all 3 little ones are now strong and at their forever homes (with a heartbroken mommy Hester on the other side).
The SPCA has also issued warnings to the property next door and is continuously following up to check on the status of the animals on the property. They have also reported back that the conditions have indeed improved and the dogs are looking much better. They will continue to check up and monitor the conditions.
